Shakily, I pulled myself up onto the bank, praying the…thing…wouldn’t be able to follow me out of the river. I just wanted it to go away. Maybe it decided it didn’t like how I tasted after all. My eyes and ears strained trying to find it. I should have run. I should have gotten the hell out of dodge. But I couldn’t move. Was I paralyzed from fear? My prayers went unanswered.

Yes, I went in search of danger, but I didn’t really think it would actually be real. My heart pounded so hard I thought it was going to burst out of my chest. Inside my head, my thoughts were swirling incoherently as I tried to swallow my fear.

While in my daze, the monstrous snake slithered up onto the bank and moved ever closer to me. Before I knew it, the beast was spiraling around my legs. And still, I couldn’t move. I couldn’t so much as twitch my toes.

Another scream tore through my throat and out of my mouth. But it was cut short by a sharp squeezing around my lower belly. 

Slowly, the creature writhed up around my bare tits, squeezing a little tighter. The scales felt rough, almost like sandpaper, against my skin. It was cold, too. So cold it felt like even my heart was turning to ice.

Its face came level with mine, and I saw a malicious desire in the eyes that stared intently back at me. It was almost like I was hypnotized. We sat like that for a while, staring into each other’s eyes. My blood ran cold, and I couldn’t scream anymore. I could hardly breathe.

The snake flicked its tongue over my lips to taste me again. It was like it was relishing this moment…savoring it, even. My body shuddered in both horror and disgust, but there was nothing I could do. I was trapped no matter how much I tried to struggle.

The huge snake opened its’ fanged mouth. I saw sharp teeth, oversized canines, and I knew I was going to be its’ lunch. What could I do but sit on my ass while it brought its’ large head closer and closer to my face?

It took some care in ingesting me. The creature seemed to line my head up right in between its fangs so as not to slice me open. Its tongue enveloped my entire face. And it seemed to move down my body. No, that wasn’t quite right. I was moving down its body.

And then…then there was darkness…and wetness…and heat. Not heat from warmth but heat like dry ice. My body was constricted, and I could barely breathe. Was I really just swallowed by a gigantic snake? Was that how this innocent adventure would end? Me being digested in the belly of this thing? I didn’t think any of it would be real. This wasn’t supposed to happen. It was supposed to be a joke, something for me to brag about later.

“Hey, I went to that place where the monster was. Pfft! There wasn’t anything there.” That’s what I was supposed to have said after this. But now it didn’t look like I’d be saying much of anything anymore. I was going to die like this…inside a snake’s stomach.

A squishing sound filled my ears in a rhythmic tempo. It completely devoured me.

Tears streamed down my face, but were quickly evaporated by the searing cold heat. 

I was sure the snakes’ belly was bulging and bulbous from its feast. From an outside perspective, one might even see remnants of my form pushing out the long, slender shape of the snake.
